By far the Panasonic.. I would take the Sharp if you're worried about the extra HDMI input, VGA input, that the Sharp is way thinner, oh yeah and "IR"..... I work at a electronics retailer and have seen a sharp 1080p hooked up to an hdmi upconverting dvd player and my th42pz77u hooked up to a cheap CHEAP progressive scan dvd player blows it away.. if you want something comparable to the panasonic in picture in LCD, go with samsung or sony..
