Denver falls off the all HD list this week with their first game this year in SD. Their last SD game was week 10 of last year. Of the 14 teams that remain on the all HD list, only 5 are AFC teams.

homcom
11-28-07, 11:19 AM
13 teams have equaled or surpassed the total number of HD games they had last year already. All but one of those teams is in the AFC. The lone NFC team, Arizona, has matched its 10 HD games of last year. Of the 19 teams still yet to equal their HD total from last year, 18 of those teams had 12 or more games in HD. Atlanta, New Orleans, and Seattle will have fewer HD games this season then last based on the number of remaining weeks and number SD games already.

With 9 HD games at 1 PM it appears that D* will once again drop one of the HD games from Superfan. NY Jets at Miami is not listed on ST HD listing.

NFL Maps show the Cincinnati DMA CBS affiliate (WKRC) airing Cleveland at Arizona in the 4pm timeslot. Every other source I've checked (TitanTV, Zap2It, TV.Yahoo.com, Snapstream.net) all show WKRC airing San Diego at Kansas City. WHIO Dayton I show as airing the Cleveland/Arizona game.

I could see WKRC airing CLE/AZ but I don't see any evidence of that right now...

...The biggest game in the NFC this year and the only one that day isn't even going to be available to the masses? What's the deal? Will cable systems put it on another channel?

No.

They cant put it on anywhere without it being fed to them from NFL Network.

And if you want to know why... just look around for a few minutes - every bit of negotiation information is detailed all over the place.

Will cable systems put it on another channel? You can thank the NFL for taking games like this that would have been free and available to everyone and deciding they could make more money off of it if they dedicated an entire channel to 8 games a year. If the Patriots do in fact have an undefeated season, not many will be able to see the final win because that game, too, is stuck on NFLN.

Comcast subs can get the NHL network if they subscribe to the sports tier. I think TWC is the only major provider that doesn't give any option to subscribe at all.

Comcast got that level of service thanks to a court ruling....

NFL Network did not want to let them do it....

TWC would like to be able to offer the NFL Network on a sports tier (or at a reduced price than the crazy high amount the NFL is asking for)

Fortunately here in NYC, that last game against the Giants will be simulcast on local TV.

I can't believe NYJ/MIA game is in HD. A combined 2-20 record plus a small coverage on the map, I thought this would have been the SD game of the week.

I am just glad there is a doubleheader this week and NY gets it. This way I have another option besides Jets/Miami ;)

It's not about how good the teams are, it's about how many people can watch it, and that turns into ad revenue. Even though it's a relatively small physical area, the game can be seen by ~12 million households. I'd like to know the numbers for the other games.

We (the NY DMA) get doubleheaders every week from now on until Week 17 when most likely the Jets game will be moved to the afternoon.

While the NYJ/MIA game is going to a small area, there are alot of people in those areas. It is not the smallest distribution on the map, the DEN/OAK game is going to fewer people.

With the Giants on NFL Network in Week 17 and both networks having doubleheaders that week, NYC will get the CBS doubleheader.

Looks like I'm heading out to a local bar tonight (on a work night) so I can watch the game. I have TW cable, so no NFL network for me. It's gonna be cold, rainy, and windy tonight where I live. I'd much rather stay home and watch the game on my couch.

Not all, just one every week from now on. If the Jets game is flexed out of SNF in Week 17 which is highly likely, then NYC will not get the FOX doubleheader that day.

Just because you get the DH doesn't mean you get the featured game. In week 14 WCBS will show CLE @ NYJ at 4:15 instead of PIT @ NE. Lucky for me I get WFSB from Hartford as well as WCBS, so I'll get both.

No, that game was protected by CBS and New England has reached their max number of prime time appearances.

I'll be watching the Browns anyway, but it's funny that the two potentially biggest NE games this year are airing at the same time both weeks.

Sunday Ticket can only handle up to 8 simultaneous HD games (plus the Red Zone channel)

Most weeks this is not an issue.

This is actually the 2nd week where a game that was shown in HD OTA to the normal markets was not put on Sunday Ticket HD due to this max.

What makes this ridiculous is they have the game on their system nationally on channel 80. There shouldn't be a capacity problem.

CBS-NY and Sunday Ticket are two totally different feeds with different ads. They can't be swapped around that easily.

This is at least the third week for Miami alone. Their games vs. the Eagles and Texans were available in HD but not carried by D*, and now we have the Jets game this week. I assume it has happened to other teams earlier in the season.

It did not happen before 2 weeks ago.

Mainly due to most weekends up until then had teams with byes - so there wasn't more than 8 games on at 1pm.

I should have checked the map again before Sunday. We were switched from the SF-Carolina game to the Seattle-Philly game. Good change.
