Hi
I am wondering if there is any TV (lcd or plasma) that use open source firmware?
And I do not think of those that have released only parts of the code.
I understand that the manufacturer might not want to release the code for their special image “enhancements” and such. Releasing the code for HDCP might also be a problem.
Has any manufacturer released source code that can be compiled and used as firmware in the TV?
Would it be possible to release the “HDCP code” as closed source to be used together with the (not yet existing?) open source firmware?
I would like to have the option to be able to fix annoying things in the TV instead of having to wait for the manufacturer to perhaps fix them.
