Dr Kain 11-28-07, 06:42 PM It wouldn't surprise me if they were all delayed again. ryoohki 11-28-07, 06:52 PM ID4 is delayed, as reported by moretonbluray website owner when he asked his distributor today... (post on 'the other bluray forum') ethanj 11-28-07, 07:31 PM The only thing certain about Fox BD releases is the price, $39.95 :) nyg 11-28-07, 07:34 PM ID4 is delayed, as reported by moretonbluray website owner when he asked his distributor today... (post on 'the other bluray forum') Bummer. I hope the other Fox titles aren't delayed as well. crakerhead 11-28-07, 08:14 PM well cast away is at some best buys so that's a hopeful, but who knows it may get pulled immediately Adam_ME 11-29-07, 12:58 AM Cast Away I believe has only the audio commentary and the trailer. Looks like I'll be hanging onto the 2-disc DVD. William 11-29-07, 05:11 AM Cast Away I believe has only the audio commentary and the trailer. Looks like I'll be hanging onto the 2-disc DVD. So it doesnt have HD video and audio to make it an upgrade? DigitalfreakNYC 11-29-07, 06:40 AM So it doesnt have HD video and audio to make it an upgrade? It's about value. The prices don't justify it. Gary Murrell 11-29-07, 07:59 AM Cast Away I believe has only the audio commentary and the trailer. The prices don't justify it. if bare bones HD releases were 50$ I would still buy them, I would just have half as many titles it's all about the movie in the end ;) -Gary DigitalfreakNYC 11-29-07, 08:03 AM if bare bones HD releases were 50$ I would still buy them, I would just have half as many titles it's all about the movie in the end ;) For some... ...who aren't interested in film-making. Scarpad 11-29-07, 08:58 AM For some... ...who aren't interested in film-making. I would imagine that Castaway with all it's beautiful Island Photography would look great in HD, the DVD looked good if I remember correctly. lemming75 11-29-07, 09:09 AM I just can't see myself buying Castaway at that price. Especially when I've had the SD version collecting dust on my shelf for years. Scarpad 11-29-07, 09:30 AM I just can't see myself buying Castaway at that price. Especially when I've had the SD version collecting dust on my shelf for years. You've hit the nail on the Head, give that man a prize. And that's the upphill climb faced by the Hidef Format, overcoming Years over DVD Collecting. I'm finding my Buying habits for HD is being influenced by my DVD Collection. We all spent like fools only to see alot of thos titles get watched once or sit on the shelves. If I have a title in my collection I have to ask my self is it important to me to rebuy this title? How much of an improvement will it be over the Upconverted DVD? In alot of cases it isn't, something like castaway is more a candidate for adding to my Netflix queue than me rebuying it. So my HD Purchases will be limited to new titles I feel have replay value, trying to limit it to sitting on the shelf like castaway. Or Double dips based on the previous disk, it's a no Brainer to replace Blade Runner which had a subpar DVD version, with a Superior HD version. Castaway not so much. Adam_ME 11-29-07, 09:37 AM So it doesnt have HD video and audio to make it an upgrade? Uh, I didn't say that. What I meant was I'm getting the Blu-ray release AND hanging onto the 2-disc DVD I already have. I still hate that Fox is leaving off extras on the majority of their Blu-ray titles, but Cast Away was my favorite movie from 2000, so I have to own it in HD. I thought you were forgoing the HD version because it didn't have the extras. My bad.:o NeoOiler 11-29-07, 02:17 PM Im with DigitalfreakNYC. Yeah they look better, but is it worth the extra money. No way in hell. I will only double dip on a few titles. Star Wars/Indiana Jones and not much else. If i already have it, not really enough change to warrant a new purchase. wormraper 11-29-07, 02:29 PM Is Mr. and Mrs. Smith the unrated cut or is it the theatrical cut???? wormraper 11-30-07, 11:37 AM Is Mr. and Mrs. Smith the unrated cut or is it the theatrical cut???? any Idea?? MSmith83 11-30-07, 07:02 PM Is Mr. and Mrs. Smith the unrated cut or is it the theatrical cut???? I would like to know this as well. I keep seeing the BD version's runtime listed as 120 minutes on various sites, which I believe is the length of the rated version. |
