I have just purchased the Panasonic 50pz700u. I have it all setup, but i noticed a yellow line on the middle right had side of the screen that goes about halfway down. I'm afraid that is a defect. Has anyone had a similar issue with this?

I have just purchased the Panasonic 50pz700u. I have it all setup, but i noticed a yellow line on the middle right had side of the screen that goes about halfway down. I'm afraid that is a defect. Has anyone had a similar issue with this?If the yellow line is present on various inputs with various sources then unfortunately i think the TV is defective. Any sort of line or bar that stops in the middle is usually a sign of an internal defect. There is a video board that drives the upper half of the screen and another that drives the lower half so it could be a problem with one of them, or maybe it could be something simple like a loose connector on a ribbon somewhere. I'm not an expert so you should check further, but i do think it's defective.

If you can exchange the set for a new one, you might just want to do that instead of calling Panasonic to arrange for a proper diagnosis and subsequent repair.

It's going back tomorrow. They are coming out to mount on the wall on Monday and I want this taken care of before then. Im glad i opened it up now. Thanks for the help.
