I have had the H/K AVR 146 for about a month. A few days ago one of my kids was using the remote and now it won't control the receiver volume. It will turn the reciever on and off, change inputs, bring up the OSD, everything except seemingly the volume. On this remote you must push the AVR button to control the receiver. For some reason when you push the AVR button, all buttons for the receiver become active except the volume. When you push volume up or down the DVD light blinks and my Toshiba DVD player chirps as though iit is receiving a remote command. The remote was working fine before this. Is there a way to reset the romote or should I seek warranty service or give up and buy universal? (Money's tight right now, holidays and all.)

Check page 46 of the manual. Maybe punch-thru volume got enabled for a device other than the AVR?

The steps are outlined for undoing it.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I'll check it out.

Genious Bard!! Genious! Success. I was looking in the wrong part of the manual under setup. I could not figure out how to undo the punch-thru, but resetting it to factory and reentering my codes did the trick quickly. Reset to factory directions were on the next page. Thanks again.
