I am attempting to wall mount my 5010FD using the Peerless SF670 wall mount. The problem I'm running into is really basic, yet has me stumped -- I'm not able to attach the two brackets to the back of the screen because of two protruding screws on the back of the panel that are blocking the bottom mounting holes.
I'm afraid to remove those screws as they may be holding some of the internals of the panel in place. The problem would the same for a 5080HD as well. I've attached a picture to illustrate the issue. The brackets are about 20 inches in length and hence, there is no way to avoid the bottom mounting holes without the brackets extending beyond the top of the set. I know folks have used the Peerless SF660 and SF670 mounts, so there has to be a simple workout, please help!!

Gesus!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm such an arsehole.
I stared at the picture long enough and realized that the screws are what is holding the stand in place!! Once the stand is gone the screws are no longer needed.
I just spent the last 15 minutes searching the net for a picture of the back, pointing to the problem area, and then uploading the pic to photobucket.
Oh well. At least some other poor SOB like me might benefit from this.
Have a good night folks.

Can I ask you a question?. What's the width of the screws are you using?. How deep can you screw the screw, I scare if the screws are too long it may hit some inside parts of the panel.
Thank you
You can use M8 screw 20-25mm long & washer, which normally comes w/ the universal wall mount. You can also use the bolts for the stand along w/ the supplied bolts. Manual states M8 screw 12-18mm, which is a bit short due to thickness of the washer & arm of the wall mount.
Cheers,
TP.

Peerless recommends (and provides) M8 x 16 screws for the Pio plasmas. They have a very comprehensive guide for most manufacturers. You can find this on their website.

So the DLP Kid bought a plasma. Nice!

Yep. The 5010FD is my first plasma panel purchase (have a couple of small LCD panels in the kitchen and bedroom). Also have a Mits WD-62725 DLP set which I purchased in late 2004. Nice set at the time. 5010FD blows it away despite the 12" size disadvantage.

I am moving into a new house in late March and am going to buy the 60 inch. I have not yet decided on Elite or non-elite.

Go for the 6010FD and don't look back (coming from a 5010FD owner :))
