On the original French Cars DVD released in '06, they had a John Lassater audio commentary.

Disney would appear to give France special treatment on a lot of discs.

huh??

Its from Disney so it will probably show up in the states a few months later. Just like The Rock, Crimson Tide, Con Air, Air Force One. Kind of strange that they are releasing these in Europe first.

Im not complaining ;)

Air Force One is Sony in the US. Not coming anytime soon.

Except these titles besides Air Force One what came out in Europe first form Disney?. No animation came out first, and just because some French website lists it, it does not mean it won't come out in US. I have seen tons of articles about releases coming out somewhere, and 90% of the time they are either canclled or delayed. They do not even list a release date for WFRR.

Oh man... I was just saying a couple days ago that I would loved to have Who Framed Roger Rabbit in HD. Can't wait!

We will get Roger Rabbit here in the US as well next year. It has all but been confirmed by Disney. They are planning some big titles next year on BD.

I wonder if they'll leave in the "special features" that were found on the LD version.

Same here, or I thought I did. I don't have it on DVD but I saw it in the cinema when it first came out.

BTW it's due out spring 08 along with a few others. This is the page (http://www.disneybluray.fr/planningsortie.php) with the forthcoming disney releases

Will they still censor Baby Herman's animation at the beginning of the movie? Will it be even worse than the DVD since it's now in HD?

Will it be restored and from the digital master files? It's still rough looking even on the DVD edition.

Digital Master files?

WFRR was made optically... no digital effects in the picture.

Anyway - anyone have any idea how the movie came out?

If you have the CAV LD, then you have the last uncensored version.

Any idea if this movie is ever going to be released on blu ray?
