I want to save a half hour program I recorded in Standard Def on a Motorola 6416 DVR using Verizon FIOS. Is there a way to output the file from the DVR to tape, or PC? I used to do it on my Replay TV and I am told it can be done on TIVO. All componets are on an internal network.

Can anyone tell me if this can be done?

Does the motorola have an output and if so you can use that to connect to another input to record, vcr tape or an dvd recorder.

The Motorola unit has component and s-video outputs (plus USB that are not enabled by Verizon). I have not tried connecting either to VCR while playing back a program from the DVR to TV. Should that work?

But what I really hoped for was some software for my PC that would recognize my DVR (which is linked to my network via the Verizon supplied router) and allow me to transfer files (like Archive on my Replay TV). Right now my PC does not list that among the networked devices.
