According to Verison I can only record the channel I am watching which defeats the purpose of my media center DVR capabilities. And if one of the family members turn off the STB or change channels I'm screwed With cable it was not a problem. Know I'm using old equipment with my VCR's but can't justify paying to record a program on TiVo or Verisons DVR version.

This is not the case with my Verizon Fios installation, I can watch any tv channel while DVR recording another channel.
