Hi all,
Got my PTAX200 home yesterday, was looking forward to getting it fired up. Due to having to reinforce the roof I haven't put the screen up yet, just fired it up on the blank light blue wall. Room is dim, but has a bit of ambient light still coming in from an open arch way into the kitchen. I have to say I was pretty disappointed with the results. Everything massively washed out, watchable, but just barely.
That night I fired it up again, and results were much better, started to be really impressed with what it could do. Just watching SD DVD's.
My question is as follows, is the screen going to give me any improvement in picture with ambient light? I understand the downsides of projectors are dark rooms are very beneficial, but I was under the impression it would still be reasonably watchable (especially with this bright projector) in a average / dim room.
