I have a sony kv-30hs420 widescreen as you guys know and I have a sega dreamcast connected to input #2 in the front of the tv running at 480i with composite cables. The video mode of the dreamcast is 4:3 right? which means on a widescreen display without zooming, wideing it it'll run in the middle. Let me stop right here and tell you whats it doing. Ok on normal screen mode the dremacast is in the middle with only black bars on left and right, top and bottom is full screen, on full mode it widens itself and looks like it is meaning to go all the way full left and right taking away the black bars but it doesnt quite make it there, theres about an even inch or so of black on the left and right of the screen.

Now in zoom mode the sides are the same as full screen mode except the top and bottom zoom or another word get bigger cutting off some of the screen but thats normal in zoom mode right? Ok now in wide zoom mode it looks like it fills up the enire screen a little more zoomy than full mode and normal mode but not as zoomy has zoom mode, I see actually 1-2% underscanning on the left and right i see the edge of the video maybe HSIZ will take care of that.

My question is should full screen mode be full screen without the little black area on the left and right as i said above? Now what service menu items i adjust to take care of some of these issues without affecting my ps3 input #7 hdmi 1080i? Thanks....

I'd think normal screen mode wouldn't have top and bottom black bars...
