Something very strange has been happening this week with the audio on Comcast's NBC HD in the Detroit area. Sometimes the actor's speaking parts go silent, but the background audio, sound effects, music, etc. are all still audible. I think you can actually hear the actors very faintly if you crank up the volume very high. The other night on 30 Rock this was happening for about the first 15 minutes of the show, then the picture switched to letterboxed on all sides and the full audio steam came back. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? I've heard of the HD / SD problem with NBC HD where the picture gets letterboxed on all sides, but never an audio problem like this.
