Does *anyone* know what's happening with the blu-ray release of Lawrence Of Arabia? It's been listed as "in the works" for a year.
It just never seems to get here. It's the one title my wife is looking forward to in my home theater.

My most wanted title by far - they've been saying sometime in 2008 for a while.

Yup...and one of the most anticipated titles of 2008.

Be thankful they didn't rush it out....They must be doing a fabulous transfer of it and i'm sure it'll look simply stunning.

^I agree. I would rather not buy a messed up version, only to double dip later for a good transfer.

Yes the Sony insider has said that they actually have been redoing the master over and over just to make it look its absolute best. Should be a winner. Last we heard sometime in 2008 is still the plan.

Definately glad to hear it, as this movie deserves it.

From what everyone is saying, it should be at least a tier 1 or possibly even a tier 0.

Can't wait to see how great it looks!

YES.....
I LOVE Lawrence and Dances with Wolves. Can't wait for the BD versions. I'd say both deserve a 3-disc treatment. 2X50GB for the movie and a 25GB for extras.

Sony offered up some kind of survey about what we'd like to see released some time back. I voted for Lawrence as one my choices. I's weady!

Yeah, this should be great.

The superbit upscaled to 1080p doesn't look so hot in my opinion. I'm looking forward to this.

:)

When's LOTR coming? What about Jaws? Star Wars?

I kinda miss the (ironical) homoerotically titled "When's '8-Mile' coming out?" thread, maybe we can resuscitate that one...

It had better be from the most pristine 65mm elements possible with Robert A. Harris supervising every step of the process!!

As great as Lawrence on BD will be (although I've never seen it before), I'm sick of opening up old Sony titles and seeing promotions for Gattaca. I suppose that's like WB's silly Shawshank Redemption coming soon ads :(

Hopefully Robert Harris has some say in how this will be transferred to Blu-ray. That is a must. I can't wait to see it, it's an amazing film. Dances, too. I almost went neutral back in the spring when Dances and Silence of the Lambs were announced. Finally went neutral just yesterday, and I'm McLovin' it! :)
