I have Verizon FIOS and my box is the QIP6416. I know there are threads on RECORDING content to the PC, but all I want to do is WATCH programming on my PC. Can anyone tell me if I can do this just by connecting my DVR to the PC via firewire? I don't want to invest in a tuner card if I don't have to. Any help would be appreciated...thanks!

You can do that with locals, but not much else.

If you want to watch something other than locals on your PC, you'll have to replace the FiOS' Motorola DVR with a Tivo Series3. Or buy a special Vista PC with CableCards.
