Hi guys,

I was wondering about standard def dvd players. I haven't seen any 1.3a players yet. Am I missing them ? I see Denon's line is 1.1 . Is it necessary if I have a 1.3a receiver ? Thanks .

SD-DVD doesn't use any HDMI 1.3 features.

So 1.1 is all you really need ???

There's really no need for a HDMI V1.3 SD-DVD player. Any HDMI player should work fine with a 1.3a receiver. If it doesn't, it's not a HDMI spec issue, it would be a implementation issue. The only 1.3 feature a SD player might possibly use is the audio delay "notification" feature.

Correct. See the version history here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hdmi#Versions

Maybe 1.2 for SACD, but I don't follow the audio disc formats.
