Starting this morning my Sony 5-disc DVD changer says "No disc" when any DVD is played...I can hear the optical motor "grinding" and then it moves on to the next disc in the tray and does the same thing all over again...audio cds work fine however...why would it play cds but not dvds? Anything I can try or is it toast? Is there a way to "realign" the optical sensor or anything?

Well, its a fairly recent model (I had one up until a couple of years ago when I got the newer NC85) but probably out of warranty. Stuff just isn't built to last these days. You could try calling Sony to get it repaired but I suspect it may be cheaper and easier to bin it and get a new model like the NC85.
