View Full Version : Will the AE2000 Be a Big Improvement Over An HC5000? avultra 12-01-07, 02:14 PM Hello, I am trying to decide if it is worth it to upgrade. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. KBMAN 12-01-07, 02:49 PM wait a year....... frank456 12-01-07, 06:55 PM Is there anything you are dissatisfied with the 5000 to even consider switching? Rockokma 12-01-07, 06:56 PM Hello, I am trying to decide if it is worth it to upgrade. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. I doubt it... wait a year. westgate 12-01-07, 06:59 PM wait a year....... your signature from aliens is one of my favorites. being from grass valley, have you ever met rodger hodgson (of supertramp fame?) last i heard, he was living there. oh, i guess i'm ot, sorry. Andrew P 12-01-07, 07:02 PM Personally I don't like the 5000. The 2000 is in another class (about equal to the vw60). I would make the switch. KBMAN 12-01-07, 11:10 PM Westgate...Yes...Super Tramp has some sort of studio here but I think there was a falling out; i dunno. BUT THANKS FOR RECOCNIZING MY SMALL TOWN and ALIENS! BACK ON TOPIC...I would def. wait a year until this whole 1080P thang gets the cobwebs out. I'm going for the panny 2000, but know there is limitations in optics and SEALED optics at that (plus QC). Hopefully next year will be for the 1080P ultimate bargain hunter. KEEP YOUR HC5000 for now......it's better than my SONY HS51A:( Woof Woof 12-02-07, 01:51 AM I upgraded from the HC5000 in less than 6 months to the JVC HD1. I can live with the brighter greens, but even the wife noticed the iris in action. And she's never ever commented abt performance from my projector (except for noise levels). westgate 12-02-07, 08:22 AM Westgate...Yes...Super Tramp has some sort of studio here but I think there was a falling out; i dunno.
