Just using a scientic atlanta HD cox cable box hooked up DVI to HDMI to 3808ci via 3 ft monstercable.

LG LDA511 DVD player hooked up with a 3 ft HDMI standerd cable from dymex.

The monitor out is the 50 foot Fiber optic HDMI from purelink that runs from 3808 through walls up to out throughthe ceiling to back of the panny2000 projector Its 600 bucks because its fiber optic not copper wire and was told id have no issues with signals what so ever.

I worried that since both siganls (dvd/cable seem to do it the source most likely is the fiber optic..which really will suck.)

i had a long winded explanation/solution but on reflection it was inaccurate so i deleted it. sounds like f/o cable.(?) any recourse (warranty, etc) w seller, maker, etc?

somehow, rig things to run a short/any length ? regular hdmi cable from rec. to pj. if it works then you'll know f/o cable is bad.

consider a 50' 24awg hdmi cable from monoprice.com, an avs sponsor. very inexpensive.

Bring a proven or just a DVD player near the pj with a short cable to rule out the cable issue.

I think you meant 22awg not 24awg. 22 is thicker than 24 and can go measurably longer distances.

Fiber optic should not be needed until you go over 50~75 feet with 1080p signals or over 100 feet with 1080i/720p signals.

What you might want to do before moving everything. Hookup the fiberoptic hdmi directly to the source and bypass the receiver. Right now if I send a 1080p signal through my receiver to my projector it will start flickering. I plugged the hdmi directly to the source and the problem goes away. Really sucks considering the receiver is much more expensive then the hdmi cable :(

I just switched to the hdmi out port two on my receiver instead of using out port one which actually resolved my issues at 1080p. Fyi if your receiver has two out ports and having hdmi issues.
