Been reading the forums for a while now but I just joined today so this is my first post.

Just got the Sony KDS-60A3000 TV yesterday after losing my 6 year old TV. I had the vip622 connected component to the old tv with 1080i fine. I am trying to connect HDMI and the 622 says in diagnostics that HDCP is not enabled so its not sending any signal through the HDMI. When I switch input on the monitor to HDMI it shows no signal. But, I still have the component connection to the monitor and its sending 1080i fine. I am using a Monster HDMI cable that I got with the monitor. Is there a trick that I am missing? The Dish manual just stats to turn all power off (Monitor and DVR), then connect the HDMI, then power the DVR, then the monitor.

This is my first time trying to use HDMI so I'm new to the "digital" connection.

Reset the HDMI on the 622

Press the menu button on remote.

You can press the 6 on remote or move the the System Steup and press Select

Next press 3 or move to Diagnostics and press Select

On Diagnostics page move use the up arrow to highlight the Analysis and press Select on remote.

Now move to the HDMI Test button amd press Select

The HDMI Test Page should now be displayed.

Now move to the Reset HDMI and press Select.

Wait about 10 seconds some times you will see someting change on the current page.

Now you can use the left arrow key on remote to move to the Disp. Info

press the up arrow to go to Info 2

This should now give you the support formats and even the name of your TV

now move back to Done and press select

you can now exit by pressing the cancel on remote untill you get back to watching TV again.

A little off topic, in the future when you need cables, I suggest you check out monoprice. They are forum sponsors & put out a quality product at a fair price

In my opinion monster cables are way over priced.
