Since my local cable provider has very few HD channels, and I'd like to be able to watch DVD's on a large screen, was wondering if anyone has information on which flat panel does the best job with an SD signal? Thanks folks!

Thanks folks! The Sony XBR4 series gets consistent high marks from the reviewers on its SD.

id probably say any set 50inch or lower. I just got my 58inch plasma and I think my friends sd looks better on his 50inch plasma

The 42PZ77U does a really good job with digital SD plus it has anti glare screen if light is bright in room! I was really surprised how good this set did!

Depends more on the source quality than anything else.

Depends more on the source quality than anything else.Except that the original poster will have the same source regardless of which tv is purchased.
If you believe the reviewers, there's a noticeable difference among brands/models in SD quality.
