Hello! Newbie here, found this place by mention on Steve Hoffman's audio site. Looks like a great place! I sense lots of love for RPTV's here, so we already have something in common. I need some help, and this looks like the place to ask.
I have a Mitsubishi VS-60801 that has an intermittent loss of video problem.
Sometimes the screen goes to black, but it doesn't look like a hard cut; it looks like a menu is trying to come up. Usually, there's lots of video breakup, like someone is reseating a board inside. It comes and goes, preceded by the black level looking crushed. It's frustrating, as I've already had a tech by to fix it, but of course it wouldn't freak out while he was there. Here's what I've found:
--Unplugging the TV then re-plugging it in has no effect;
--This problem occurs on all inputs;
--Sometimes the main menu does come up by itself, and the video breakup can be seen behind it; going into and out of the menu on the remote will not stop the fit.
I would assume I have some kind of control board issue? I haven't been able to find any service manuals online, and can't afford the financial Russian roulette of bringing another tech by if the TV chooses to behave.
Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
