Hi - I'm new to the forum and to Home Theater.
I recently purchased an Onkyo TX-SR605 receiver and Polk RM6880 speakers for a 12x18 home theater. I'm now considering trading in the speakers for the Focal Sib 5.1 system that I listened to at Tweeter. My concern is this - the speakers are rated by Focal at 4 ohms min/8 ohms nominal or 6 ohms nominal, depending on what piece of literature you read on their website. I can't find the link now, but I read a site a couple days ago that measured impedance down to the 2-3 ohm range. If I do purchase these speakers, what should I set the receiver to with regard to speaker impedance? I'm concerned that if they are treated as 8 ohm speakers, I'll burn out my amplifier.
Also, Tweeter has these on sale for $899. How is that for pricing on these speakers?
Thanks in advance.
