Has anyone had any experience with problems recording from VHS to the SONY GX355?

To be more specific... The actual recording is fine. I record is HQ mode. I recently started to archive some of my old concert tapes from the mid-90's. The idea was to record onto DVDRW then drop them onto my hard drive. the only thing is that the ripping process has not been going smooth. I keep getting message that my disk may have scratches or it's dirty. These are brand new disks though. I recorded a DV concert in thew Sony and did the same process with no problem. The VHS recording is giving me a very hard time though.

Any ideas? I am using Memorex DVD RWs.

Thanks

I've never used them, but a lot of people here would say that is likely your problem. I use Verbatim myself.

Hmmm. It's weird since I used those disks three times all on three different sources.

DV to DVD=Successful rip into computer from disk
VHS to DVD=Failed rip into Computer
TV Program to DVD=Failed rip into computer from disk.

I'll definitely give another brand of DVD RW a chance.

Thanks
