Just watched VERTIGO on HDNET Movie channel and it looked incredible!
I had the DVD and I also saw the restored print at the Ziegfield Theater a few years ago but last night was special the print looked amazing (colors!). This is the first time I was blown away but a Time Warner NYC feed (maybe it's the new 8300 HDC box?) not a trace of noise or other artifacts I doubt that the HDDVD or BLU-RAY version will be able to beat that broadcast in term of picture quality.

'Vertigo' & 'Psycho' both looked good. Can't wait for the HD DVDs...c'mon Universal!

I've recorded it but haven't watched it yet. I am glad to hear how good it looked.

i was less impressed by Psycho but this is not surprising considering that Hitchcock use his TV crew to filmed it using a very low budget of 800K and you can tell that there is none of the usual "high end" picture quality (B&W for one) you have in his previous 2 movies (VERTIGO, NBNW), this said Psycho is for me one of his best (with VERTIGO and NBNW).
Now if we could have al 3 in HD DVD in our lifetime that would be a great! :D
