I need to control an LCD TV through RS232. I would like to issue RS232 command string to the LCD in response to POWER ON / POWER OFF events from my dish sat pvr and a receiver. The key is that I want LCD to go on or off even when no IR command has been issued through a remote.

I know MSC-400 can issue commands based on triggers and conditions without having to press a button on a remote. Does anyone know if similar capability exist in RFX9600. Their manuals for the product and their programming software are rather bare.

Any alternative approach suggestions very much welcomed.
