I just finished watching the Planet Earth series in HD and I loved it! Think there is a chance the blue planet series will come to HD DVD? I am not talking about the imax version either (though I am going to buy that)
And lastly is there any other HD DVDs like planet earth or blue planet?

Galapagos
It's two and a half long, on par with Planet Earth's PQ and is what PE would have been like if they focused solely on the Galapagos islands.

I would much prefer The Miracle Planet. IMO - it will transfer over to HD better - lots of CGI.
Shooting underwater causes a loss of resolution and light. Just because the water is never crystal clear and water is 800X more dense than air.
Lots of underwater shots in the Blue Planet.

Planet Earth is showing on Dsicovery HD theater, on Dec 26th. I'll have to record it on my DVR. TWC only carries Discovery HD theater, but the quality of the programming has been very good.
Does the TWC cable broadcast of "Planet Earth" suffer due to having less bandwidth than the blu-ray version?

Blue Planet has been out on HD DVD. There is another series called The Blue Planet - Seas of Life from BBC on DVD though. I could recommend March of the Penguins and coming soon is An Artic Tale. Arctic Tale is the polar bear version of March of the Penguins.

Just the 80 min imax version of blue planet is out on HD DVD. I was asking about the whole series.

The Miracle Planet?
Narrated by Chris Plummer. It shows up on Discovery HD Theater all the time.
It is the history of the Life on Earth from 4.5 billion years ago to today - and all the changes it has suffered - with the theme that once life appeared on Earth - life continues to find a foot hold - even in the very worst conditions and mass extinctions

Miracle Planet kicks ass, great summary on current planetary and biological evolution theory. I'd love to see that on HD DVD.
