Anyone else's CBS showing infomercials Time-Life Music instead of How I Met Your Mother tonight??? Is this to do with the writer's strike? This is nice if that's the case....sheesh as if there was much to watch on TV before

Its not CBS, its the local station/affiliate/gatekeeper. What is your location and the call sign of your local CBS station?
Our ABC station (katv) is notorious for sports related preemptions, and often shows infomercials instead of lesser popular events (such as the recent MLS Cup Final bumped for local church services and informericals).
I hope "Paid Programming" is one "genre" of "programming" NEVER to see the light of day in HDTV.

NBC had a near half screen banner ad for the Bourne Identity DVD during Chuck tonight more than once - and that was national.

Yeah, I knew it was just my local, but I wondered if anyone else's local did such a stupid thing. They finally started playing the national feed at the start of 2 1/2 Men, so I only missed HIMYM and BBT.
CP, what were they overlaying that on? Why do people do things like this? They think they are going to gain viewers?

The NBC overlay was on Chuck and it was obnoxious!
NBC is the OTA King of Clutter for on screen promotion, although I expect everyone to be as bad eventually.
