I am in the market for a new remote as my Sony RM-AV3000 has died. I now have RF switches for the lamps beside my TV and would like to control those as well with the new remote. Most remotes I look at say the use an RF repeater to extend the IR signal but nothing says anything specifically about learning RF signals. Is there a remote that does this?

Nope. And it can't be done because of the nightmare of FCC licensing and approvals that a learning RF remote would have to get-- basically, it'd have to get a separate approval for each and every signal that it could possibly learn.

You are exactly right. Same thing Universal taught as at training. Its a good thing too, otherwise Id be learning someone's garage door code into an MX-900 right now.
