Network's Coverage Begins at 3:30 P.M. ET with Launch from the Kennedy Space Center Scheduled for 4:31 P.M. ET

WHAT: HDNet to broadcast EXCLUSIVE coverage of the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis, marking NASA's 24th U.S. mission to the International Space Station.

The mission of STS-122 is to deliver the European Space Agency's Columbus science laboratory module. The cylindrical, 23-foot-long Columbus lab is the first all-European laboratory to be attached to the International Space Station.

WHEN: EXCLUSIVE coverage begins on HDNet at 3:30 p.m. with the launch scheduled for 4:31 p.m. ET.

Eh, CNNHD covered the last launch, and probably will this one -- not quite exclusive for you there.

The thread for the 10/23 launch did not say exclusive, so we'll see.

Looks like the next one is on 2/14. Hopefully CNN will have that one since I'll have CNN HD on Comcast by then.

The last launch on HDNet was outstanding. Best job of capturing the sound of the launch so far. I hope that improvement continues.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) - NASA called off Thursday's launch of space shuttle Atlantis after detecting problems with fuel gauges in the shuttle's external tank.

Officials will try again Friday at 4:09 p.m. to launch the shuttle, NASA said.

WFTV is transmitting HD coverage of the launch to Central Florida viewers; and providing feeds for ABC affiliates WLS-TV Chicago, KABC-TV Los Angeles and WFAA-TV Dallas under a partnership agreement with ABC's NewsOne service.

Actually, window closes Thursday, but they must know that they'll never get it fixed it time.
