I may be asking for too much.. but I currently have a Pioneer DVR-510H that has a HDD and does a pretty good job of allowing editing of content prior to burning a DVD.

What it doesn't have is HDMI and VCR.

I'm trying to cut down on the number of components I have and haven't been able to find a DVD recorder with HDD/VCR and HDMI. Preferabally with SQPB so I can play my S-VHS tapes.

Does such an animal exist?

Such animals are extinct. DVDRs with HDD are almost extinct, in the USA, but still available outside the USA, or as international models from some US online dealers, but those don't include VHS. Also, "SQPB" will not provide as good a transfer as a genuine SVHS deck.

The Panasonic EH75 completely fits your requirements, but they haven't been widely available for a long time. There are probably still a few listed on e-bay or Amazon for something around $750-$1k or so, which is absurd. There is one on ebay right now. As far as current products are concerned, as has already been stated, maybe somewhere in the world, but NOT available in the US.

Someone here just found an open box one at a Circuit City a couple or so weeks back. He offered them 200 bucks and they took it. Lucky dude.

There are places that sell DVD recorders with hard drives, however they do not have the tuners needed to demodulate NTSC or ATSC signals, (PAL only) if you use it with the S or composite video input it doesn't matter.

The international Pioneers sold through www.world-import.com do indeed have NTSC M tuners in them which can be used here.

But that's moot, because he wants one with a VCR, anyway.
