I'll try it this evening in my Venturer which was updated with 1.3. It plays perfectly in the XA2.

Thanks. I know it was well reported that it did play in the XA2 but not in A3 1.1. I love this movie but don't want top buy a dud. As the Venturer is an A3 in another wrapper that should solve the problem.

Smart to follow up on this. Indeed, I tried it in the Venturer with firmware 1.3 and it doesn't work. Indicates it doesn't recognize the dvd format. I tried it in my Xbox 360 addon which I hook up to my PC and Ultra Power DVD and it works perfectly and of course on the XA2. My daughter has my old A1 in her room so I may give it a spin on that. I'd sure like to know what the issue is.

It works perfectly in my A2. No go in my A3. Neither unit has been updated.

I just tried this tonight in my 360 add-on and it said "unplayable disc." I tried connecting to Live to see if there was a firmware update or something to correct this, but I received the same message.

Bums me out, anyone else have this problem on the add-on? I have an e-mail into Xploited to see if anything can be done at this point.

Worked fine on my 360 HD-DVD drive. Sold the drive about 6 months ago, not sure if there were any updates since then. You sure its not the disc?

Tried it on my A3 and my A35, a no go! On my A2 it works fine, when I had an XA2 it worked fine on that too. I think it is basically anything Gen 3 is a no, whereas Gen 2 players all work with it fine. Not sure about Gen 1.

As far as I know it only plays on gen 2 machines, not 1 or 3 (sadly the 2 I have).
Amazon france (where I bought it) was unable to offer any information of a possible disk swap on word a while back that there was a bad pressing and Pathe was re-pressing.
No reply from Pathe CS via e-mail though..:(
I did notify Toshiba CS for what it is worth on all my incompatablity issues with my A35 in hopes they will be corrected before my 30 day window is up.
