I have a JVC DR-MH30S DVD and HDD recorder,yesterday while watching a dvd the picture started to scramble and then freeze,I fast forwarded it and thew same thing happened, I then tried the dvd in another player and it worked fine no problems at all,this is the first time this has happened,I checked the troubleshooting in the manual but nothing there,could it be the dvd recorder player just needs a cleaning,any suggestions.

Did you try another DVD disc? I know the the JVC players/recorders are very sensitive to dirty or scratched media. This could be a case.
I have the same model and I never had any issues. Very pleased with.

I agree. If it is just happening with the one disk, it is most likely just a media/player mutual incompatability.
