Newbie here, so please bear with me. I am getting ready to invest in some components and trying to avoid purchasing the wrong items. This is what I am considering:

TV: Pioneer PDP6010-FD (60 inch plasma)
HD DVD Player: Toshiba A35
AV Receiver: Onkyo TX SR-605
HD DVR: DirecTV HR20-700 or HR20-100 or HR21-700

I understand that the TV, DVD player & receiver are all HDMI 1.3 compliant, but I have no idea what version HDMI the DirecTV HD DVRs are and can not find out. I plan on connecting the DVR and DVD player to the receiver via HDMI In and then connect the receiver to the TV via HDMI Out. I want to take full advantage of all the bells & whistles when it comes to the audio and video capabilities of these components.

Here is the concern - I have read on this forum and others that with the above setup I might experience audio synching/delay issues due to the DirecTV HD DVR unit. Is this true and is it because of it's HDMI capability or lack thereof?

How do I avoid the audio synching/delays while still taking advantage of the HDMI capabilities on these components? Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
