Just noticed there are 20 Channel 1s listed in my guide now. Anyone know what's up with that?

EDIT-- Looks like they are network affiliates.

Looks like they're just placeholders/testing for new channels.

My WAG would be it's in preparation for adding some HD LIL (or DNS) affiliate subchannels.

I was wondering about that too. I just went to record "Shrek the Halls" in HD and saw that this was shown on 1 along with other channels. So I went to 1 to see what it was and all I got was a "searching for signal" display.

The guide data is actually all for local channels that they already offer. It looks like someone just screwed up the configuration.

It isn't uncommon for them to just throw something up there to fill out the guide. They put NFL network programming up in the NHL Network's slot while testing.

That's because NHL Network didn't exist at the time.

Not relevant. If they aren't ready to show their hand, they would intentionally not put up the subchannel guide info.

They also wouldn't screw up (and this was a screw up, no matter how you slice it) and put the channels into everyone's guide like this.

Well if your theory is that they are putting up 20 redundant channels all on the same channel number - I'd bet you're wrong.

My theory is that someone just screwed up the guide configuration for a bunch of HD LIL channels on the west coast, and the fact that they were all on channel 1 has nothing to do with anything.

It would be nice if you could post them here, considering the fact that not all of us have accounts on that site, and therefore can't see the pictures.

Although I saw the channels for myself on my own receiver, I'm just trying to help others out.
