Anybody with experience interfacing to the RS-232 port on the JVC DLA-RS1 Projectorfor remote control? I am working on connecting to a Universal Remote Control MSC-400 Master System Controller, and it seems to be resisting. Are there any surprises in the configuration or coding of the commands (diffferences from what's in the JVC manual, for example)?

My other two RS-232 devices (a DVDO VP-50Pro and an Onkyo PR-SC885P) came up pretty easily, so I am looking for a silver bullet on the JVC...

Thanks in advance

It should work using the commands in the RS1 manual. What's happening when you try them?

Nothing. I also tried connecting directly to my laptop (both with and without a null-modem adapter) and got nothing, using Hyperterminal. My setup is 19200 baud, N-8-1.

I would think it would at least NAK a series of CR sent to it.

I installed RealTerm (from SourceForge) on my laptop, and confirmed that the port on the JVC projector does work correctly (using a null-modem adapter) with my extension cable. So my problem is narrowed down to my MSC-400 setup or the MSC-400 Serial Cable.

Deleted the MSC400 setup for the projector, rebuilt it, and now it works. Not sure what I did wrong the first time.

Thanks for your input.

LeBon;
I was hoping you could share your *.msf file for the VP50Pro with me.
Please check your pm.

Thanks much in advance!

Sent you my .msf file and what I have on the VP50Pro, including an Excel spreadsheet I got from DVDO that generates the complete string for a given command (sometimes -- it's a bit flaky). The only command data sheet I have is for the VP30. For example, it doesn't have the commands for Input Presets 5 thru 10.
