Geez, I know this has been covered, but I gotta vent. Does it piss anyone else off that just about every game is on in HD tonight, except for the Celtics/76ers?

I mean, what gives here? The Celts are having a great year, the talk of the league, and the Sixers are Philly, which is a reasonably big market.

I just don't get why this isn't on in HD. I bought the damn package so I could catch the Celts this year, but so far it seems most of their games have only been in SD.

there have been a number of C's games in HD this year and there typically only home games that are broadcast on Comcast Sports Net...I guess CSN doesnt like to travel with there cameras, therefore no road games in HD, like last night.

1) Few teams have road HD (and those that do are limited)

2) CSN Philly won't be available on satellite any time soon.

CSN New England does not own the cameras or any of the other hardware used to produce the game telecasts. They would not travel equipment from game to game. They use a mobile truck vendor that would have a truck in that area to handle the broadcast.

Comcast does own a HD production truck, but it is mainly used for CSN Philly and Mid-Atlantic and does not travel outside that region typically.

i asked this question in another thread, but didn't get a reply. i'm hoping the posters who are more into the nba might know the answer. i understand why the celts game wasn't in hd last night. however, on other nights nba games that were in hd were blacked out even though d* used that station's sd feed for league pass. it has happened a number of times.

does anyone know what the policy is? i thought d* said that if you receive the sd version of a station, you will get the hd version as well. yet, as i mentioned, there have been numerous times when a station was televising in both sd and hd and d* used the broadcast for league pass in sd but blacked out the hd version.

thats on D* and it pisses me off that the games are available in HD in the 600's yet you cant watch them, its BS

for directv, the nets game tonight is on yes and channel 753 on league pass. however, when i turned it on a few minutes ago, the hd version was blacked out on 622hd and 753.1. i live in kansas city. there is nor reason i can fathom why the hd version is being blacked out while the sd version is being sent through.

i don't really think there is some obtuse directv policy we just don't understand. i think d* simply isn't on top of their blackouts and are blacking out channels by mistake. this has happened at least five times i know of thus far on league pass.

edit: the game is on channel 95. why it is listed on 753.1 but blacked out is beyond me.

Celtics HD away games are starting up next month on Comcast Sports NewEngland HD, accoring to team co-owner.

I hope thats true,after watchung the celtics whip the raptots in SD on sunday,arrrrgh l cant stand to watch a game in sd anymore, I cant wait for the day when EVERY CELTICS GAME IS IN HD!!!!

CSN-NE really needs to go all HD, its really a shame that their HD channel is off the air for 95% of the week. NESN runs circles around them in the HD dept.
