Ok Ive been looking at different media players. this is what im looking for

1) I want the unit to have an internal hard drive that i can attach to my pc and ad movies (no streamming needed)

2) It will be attached to an older high def tv (component connections but may buy a newer tv with hdmi) Basically i want to be able to back up my hd-dvds im about to buy and play them in high def on the tv.

My problem may be my understanding of whats actually high def. If i take a mkv file and convert it to an avi will the tvix 4000 play it in hd or do i need to go to a 4100 or just wait for the popcornhour supply to get caught up?
