Watching on local simulcast WPWR in Chicago via Comcast, and things look pretty good. Seems like occasional macroblocking when they go to a closeup on an individual.

pq ok to slightly better than ok... main cam a bit soft... a bit of pixelation in background on closeups that have motion... decent grass... ok color... overall, not unsatisfactory... not cbs/espn quality, but far better than nbc snf...

aq. well, it's stereo. good stereo at least. :) commercials louder than the game... :(

NFL Network on Cox in RI.

Are some of the cameras not HD? Im watching this game on the HD channel on a non SD set and on my laptop via firewire and some of the shots have the line at the top.

Watching the game in SD from Dish, so that's not really right for this forum. But it looks reasonably good in SD for whatever that's worth.
Not more Gumbel Imagine a broadcast team with both Gumbels.

no, they are hd. that's the "info" line (for lack of a better term, homcom will know the right term for it)... i believe it carries stuff like closed captioning information, etc (again, i'll get corrected if wrong... :) ).... i get it off and on on lots of things, especially on games...

NFL Network is 2.0. Think of it as 3.1 channels less of Bryant Gumbel.

NOT watching on Comcast Essex county NJ. As of ,I guess a couple of days ago or probably today, it's no longer included. They want 2 bucks a month for it. Or should I say 2 bucks a month for one game and then start off with the Bears v Redskins? ROTFLMAO Yeah right.

Why can't the NFL Network use what has basically become the standard for the lines on the field: blue for LOS, yellow for first down, and red for first-down yardage on fourth down? That red line for the LOS keeps distracting me.

If your seeing this on the three main game cameras, (left 20 yard line, 50 yard line, and right 20 yard line) and possibly the high endzone shot then My guess would be it has something to do with the virtual graphics system. NBC uses a similar system and they black out the top lines on all cameras to cover this data.

PQ is impressive, audio is okay. There has been a few problems with the audio, including that ticking sounds coming out of a break, another poster mentioned above.

Overall, I think the production looks better then last week.

A problem last week was the billboards, again this week they had a Southwest airlines billboard with black text showing the website address which was unreadable because it was played over a beauty shot that was dark in the area of the text. Looks unpolished, and most likely something the advertisers are not to pleased with.

PQ is excellent again via E*. I continue to enjoy the NFLN's focus on the game and not the backstory(s) ala Fox.

...Gumbel is horrible.

Watching NFLN via D* here in Cleveland on HR20 and 50" 1080p plasma. The MPEG4 channel 212 looks very good with no pixelation, and I'd rate it higher than our CBS with WeatherNow sub and over NBC with WeatherMinus sub.

Audio not the best, but putting the receiver in Neo mode makes it tolerable. The true DD5.1 from NBC and Fox are much better.

I also notice the "closed captioning" type data on the top of the 20/50/20 yard cams on my plasma set to 1:1 pixel mapping, no overscan.

Watching WPWR-DT OTA on a standard 26" analog DTV, receiving from a third gen DTV tuner 60 miles away from Sears with a very solid signal lock (considering it's 1 million watts on channel 51 at 1800', tallest antenna on Sears, I expect nothing less since they can get it with a good antenna in South Bend, IN, and at night in Byron, IL 95 miles west). Thus, this 1080i broadcast is downconverted to 720p at WPWR-DT, and then to 480i at my box. But it looks very good, very little macroblocking. I only have 2.0 audio, so I don't notice any problems.

Security not the greatest letting that fan on the field like that. Someone's head is going to roll on that one...besides the "fan", of course...

Top score bar...unimpressed. CBS and NBC and ESPN do considerably better with it.

Hope no one else gets hurt on either side! Yikes...I don't think Grossman's leg was broken, since he walked off the field. I hope not, at least!

I also noticed how tough it is to focus an HD camera, since NFLN likes to show a lot of really tight shots. I worked with some real good ones in two projects I have worked with over the past 3 months. With older cameras and glass quality not as good as it is now, you can get away with being a little soft. Not any more!

PQ very good on Dish 9426.

PQ kinda soft on local simulcast WDCA 20. WDCA's feed is about a second ahead of the feed from Dish, makes it easy to compare :)

PQ is the best I have ever seen for any Football game from any network. I have Dish. I am upgrading to Fios next week. I can only hope NFL network looks this good with Fios. I have a feeling that it will though.

Yes, those flashing dashes are highly annoying. All the pixels of a digital picture are supposed to be seen and putting data there and relying on overscan to hide it is ridiculous.

i'd agree with that... i think the "scoring drive" graphic they use is very cool... i wish they'd use that one more...

i guess i never "locked in" to the color of the lines... it's intuitively obvious which one is which... at least to me...

espn college has the best score box by far...not only the score, down, and quarter, but u also get:
- the 40 second playclock in the bar (not just a pop up with only 5 seconds left on the bottom of the screen like other networks).
- timeouts left for each team (cause announcers never tell u when u want to know).
- a little triangle by the team with the ball.

I have my receiver set to "pro logic II" and even though NFL net is "only" 2.0, it decodes into "5.1" nicely... Almost as though it was broadcast in 5.1...

I think that the actual mix is pretty good as well... I am not a big fan of the broadcast team, but the mix of it is as good as any of the other networks... JMHO

True, but it's still a monumental improvement over NFL Network last year.

Really? Wow! They weren't bad, but I guess I am used to CBS/ESPN/FOX's formats, since I like them better and seem to provide more info that I want. I do wish they showed timeouts left, and I had to figure out those little yellow bars told me what quarter we were in.

Also, I agree that video and audio was good.
