I have the Samsung 5054 and i just got the Toshiba HD-A2 DVD Player today. For some reason its not that great of a picture. Its hooked up via Component right now. Im watching Transformers right now and in the dark scenes its real fuzzy. Its not as sharp as i thought it'd be. During the movie, the part where all the Transformers meet up in the Junkyard, the black is fuzzy. Is there something wrong goin on here or did i expect to much or what? Any help please.

First thing I would suggest would be to turn down your contrast to something more like 50. I would then try turning off the DNR and DNIe and turn down the Black Adjust to see if that makes a difference. I'm sure you will get more advise from folks who are wiser than I in this area, but it's a start.

I looked at those post break-in settings and they all seem to dark/bland for me. It doesn't even look like HD to me. Makes it look very dull and boring, nothing pops at you.

I've a 5054, and an A2. Picture looks awesome to me.
ousooner2, give settings time for you to get used to them. If you stare into the sun all day long and then look away for a bit at something else everything will seem dim and dull too, but that's because you've been used to looking at something overly bright and garish.
I remember when I first started messing with the adjustments on my set and turning things down, my everything seemed dull. Then after watching at those settings for a few days I went back to my old settings and I was amazed at how fake those settings looked, how unnatural everything was.
Do you want pop and pizazz? Or do you want your picture to look as close to the directors intentions as possible? Do you want to pretend you live in an 80's new wave music video with bight neon colors and high contrast levels which pops and wows or do you want to see reality?
Proper settings make a huge difference. Every TV's viewing environment requires a little individual tweaking, but some of those settings in that Samsung FAQ are good starting points.
I've had my Samsung 5054 since March (got it the first week they hit stores)
Here's what I'm currently using.
Mode Standard
Contrast 70 (dont' got down to 50 as suggested above, way too low on these sets, you will be losing a lot of shadow detail.)
Brightness 48
Sharpness 0 (extra sharpness WILL ADD NOISE, this is ARTIFICIAL edge enhancement. When viewing HD content YOU DON'T NEED EDGE ENHANCEMENT.)
Color 48 (yours is way too high)
Tint 54/46
Color Tone Normal
Detailed settings:
Black adjust OFF
Dynamic Contrast LOW
Gamma 0
Color Space AUTO
White balance
R-Offset 14
G-Offset 16
B Offset 15
R-Gain 20
G Gain 19
B Gain 14
Edge Enhancement OFF (just in case you haven't added enough artificial edge to your picture by cranking up sharpness, you can also add more edges that aren't actually there by turning this on. Don't do it! :) )
DNIe ON
You need to have DNIe ON, this actually enhances your ability to dial in gray scale and other things in the Detailed Settings, with DNIe off you can't use Detailed settings.
The Samsung has a lot of user adjustments, far more than most TVs, this is good and bad, as it means you can really dial things in, but it also means that you can really put things out of whack too.
