My Sony RM AX 2500 is pretty beat up and starting to go after years of use. I really like this remote but I'm looking to upgrade to a new touchscreen model. I'm not looking to spend a fortune so I'm looking at the Sony RM-AX 4000 and the Medius TX1000. The Sony is a beefed up version of my current remote with some programmable functions added. The Medius has RF capabilities. Can anyone make any reccomendations? I'm having a hard time finding quality reviews of the Medius.

The TX-1000 is basically a touchscreen version of the MX-900, so if you read the review of the MX-900 on Remote Central, it will tell you most of what you need to know about the TX-1000. You can also download the programming manual for the TX-1000 there.

That being said, the TX-1000 is not meant to be hand held. It's heavy and does not have hand recesses, as it's made to sit on a table or easel, where you would just tap the screen and buttons. It is, however, much more customizable than a Sony.

Thanks. It is a bit big and bulky from what I've read. I'm now looking at the Pronto TSU 500. It's in my price range and seems a bit fancier and more customizable than my sony.
