I bought a P50 this morning also. It was an impulse buy since I went in looking for the Gateway laptop (which were gone). When I saw it was a P50rather than a VP50 I couldn't resist. Unfortunately now I have a problem. I also bought a SHARP Aquos 46" 1080P LCD last week with a PM @ Sears for $80 more. Since it is for XMAS I haven't opened either. Both units have some issues. But should I give up the 46" 1080P for a 720P 50". Now I have to decide which one to keep before the wifie finds out. HELP
LOL, I like your style. Sounds like something i would do. I would keep the Sharp but thats just my personal opinion. I am sure someone here can give you some good info to help with your choice.
Good luck.

It depends how far you sit from the TV. If it's 10 feet or more from where you'll view, keep the Vizio. Otherwise, keep the Sharp.
See here (http://s3.carltonbale.com/resolution_chart.html) for how I came to that decision.

My heart says 46" 1080P, but that chart says 50" 720P. Thanks, but now I'm really torn.

Why does your heart say 46" Sharp? Do you know?
Let's see here, why could you regret keeping the plasma? Well, the way that it flickers does irritate some peoples' eyes (not all), and perhaps the smoother display of the LCD is better? But the plasma will have better viewing angle, and the Sharp may band.
Maybe there's something I'm missing, and the Sharp is best for you. In situation like this, it might be best to trust your instincts.
Where did you buy the Vizio?

Where did you buy the Vizio?
Sorry to take so long to respond. My heart wanted the 1080P. I bought the Visio @ Walmart. Unfortunately I didn't pick it up soon enough and they called and left a message on my machine which the whole family heard. Spoiled the XMAS supprise so I just got a refund and blew it off as an impulse buy. However since then I picked up the 42" 1080P Panasonic / Blue Ray free combo deal from Best Buy for an unbelievable low < $700 deal after discounts. So now the 46" 1080P Sharp will probable be returned? Can't go wrong with the Panny and there should be some great Super Bowl deals on the 50" + screens coming up so I think I can wait, especially with what I will have to wait with.

Thoroughly check warranty and warranty support and location of repair on the Vizio. What is the lighting conditions of the room you're in? Have you considered a Panasonic plasma instead of the Vizio? Heck you have 2 TVs, why not 3?:D

Actually how about four. Two 20" 720P Visio's for the kids, a 42" 1080P Panny and a 46" 1080P Sharp that I may return, but would like to keep.
