My volume control is set to the AV receiver in all activities, which works. HOwever, when I am in the PVR device and doing things, the volume control doesn't function until I come out of device mode.

Yes...Device mode is for controlling a single device only.

The solution is to press the "Device" button twice to return to the activity.

If you find yourself needing to access Device mode more than once or twice a week, add the command(s) you are needing to access to your activities. Device mode is really only there for rarely used commands and troubleshooting.

Thanks for the tip! I can see where device mode is more for set up than for normal day to day use.. I programmed the A and B buttons to give me what I started out using device mode for, so I'm good to go.
