My Sam's Club is down to about 3 Pio 6070's in stock and I quickly will need to be deciding whether to purchase one or not...

I realize that the Pio and the Panny are not exactly "apples to apples" competitors since th Pio has tuner and speakers and the Panny does not, the Pio has about 10% larger screen area than the Panny and is about $700-800 more expensive than the Panny (buying from forum sponsor)...With all that said....going to head to head which one has the better picture? Is it a draw?

Put another way, is the Pio's picture (and other bells and whistles) between 7 and 8 "Benjamins" BETTER than the Panny? I kind of have had my heart set on the Pio the last few months for my new home theater but the price differential is really giving me pause since I won't be needing the Pio's speakers and I'll be using satellite/cable box.....Any advice to help get me off this fence would be appreciated...Thanks.

I'd choose the Panasonic TH-58PH10UKA, the Panasonic professional models are my favorite displays for many reasons. I own the 50 inch TH-50PH9UK and would not trade it for the Pioneer.

No doubt about the 6070 is an amazing set. Also the 58PH10UKA is great display as well. My vote for value, performance, and expandability goes to 58PH10UKA. Save your money because your pockets will.

Black levels will be a little bit better on the panasonic. But you might notice the "floating black" issue. Pioneer will have better processing than panasonic. Panny might be a little sharper crisper, pio less noise and other artifacts.

i bought a 58ph10uk but you need to be aware you can remove the speakers from the pio 6070...

I love my 6070. :D
