Thanks in advance for any and all advice, recommendations, etc. from the members here.

My 42" LG ED plasma that I bought 3 years ago is being replaced because of the "sparkle effect" just in time as the 3 year extended warranty was expiring. (in hindsight a lucky decision to buy at under $120)

I've been given a store credit by Warrentech and the Models I'm looking at at BrandSmart (Atlanta) that match my credit amount are the Sammy 4254 or either of the 2 Panny 42" models. Either way, I'm gonna get a much better PDP out of this deal but wanted to check with the board here to get your thoughts.

My setup includes:
HD DVR Comcast cable box (DC 6412 III)
Denon 1910 upscale DVD Player (DVI output)
Yahmaha RX-V595 Reciever (hooked up via optical)

I only use surround sound via the reciever occasionally. I don't watch too much DVD's and will probably wait until I upgrade to a true HD DVD, so a DVI < HDMI cable should work fine for now. My Plasma is wall mounted and wires are behind the wall connected to the TV via component. I could go HDMI from the cable box to the new Plasma but don't need to unless there's really gonna be a nice noticeable difference in PQ.

I mostly watch cable HD sports, movies, tv shows, etc. but do end up watching a good bit of SD as well so SD PQ is certainly a concern.

I live in a Hi-Rise condo so my room is bright but fortuantely does not take on direct sunlight. So glare is an issue but not as great as some peoples situations might be.

I've looked at all three Plasma's and can't really decide. In the showroom the Sammy looks better to my eye but I've read here about some issues with "flicker" that kind of is making me a little nervous. I'm sure I can find issues written here with the new 42" Panny's too so I'm kinda stuck.

Any of your thoughts, advice, sugggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jason
