Anyone ever have probs hooking up their PS3 via hdmi to their projector?

I've been playing ps3 fine on my InFocus SP4805 via hdmi but am having troubles with the Epson 1080p. The Epson doesn't pick up a signal from the ps3 via hdmi. I haven't found anyone with this particular problem...not sure what the prob is or what to do. Any ideas?

Can we assume that you have tried another device (i.e. cable box, DVD player) hooked up to you PJ using the same cable into the same HDMI input? Just wanted to know if you PJ's HDMI input os working as well as the cable you are using.

Check your PS3 HDMI settings and make sure 24hz mode is turned off instead of automatic. That could be the problem, assuming your Epson doesn't support 24hz.

my epson tw-1000 works fine with the ps3. i notice some handshake issues when using my hdmi switch from monoprice. switching between various sources seems to cure it.
another thing is to make sure the ps3 resolution is reset. i think you need to hold down the power button when starting up until it beeps. make sure your projector is on, of course.

Thanks for the input. I messed around a little more and think the hdmi plug-in on my epson is faulty. The hdmi cable seems to work fine as I'm able to connect the ps3 via hdmi to the SP 4805. The ps3 is the only hdmi source I have so I can't check the hdmi compatibility of the epson with anything else. Even though my epson supports 1080p @ 24hz I turned off that feature on the ps3. Still no signal. The epson picks up a signal from the ps3 via regular composite video though. The fact that the ps3 is outputting in hdmi as evident from my other PJ makes me think there is something wrong with the epson hdmi input. I'm calling them tomorrow to see what they say. Wish me luck. ;)

I have the same problem.

Put my HDMI does work up to 1080i, its only when i switch it to 1080p does it stop to work.

Blue screen and no signal.

(epson pro cinema 1080ub)

The same thing happens when i connect my Toshiba a30. Works if its set on 1080I but when i switch the dvd player to use 1080p it says no signal.
