I have time warner, sa 8300hdc, hdmi to sony 60" kds-60a3000 hdtv.

Previously using component and left/right audio to TV had no problems.

Upgraded to HDMI, and when playing from recorded shows, every 10min
or so the audio drops out for a second or two. Hit the "replay" button and
it plays the same section fine.

Switched back to component and the problem disappears.

Tried rebooting 8300hdc and it didn't help.

Any help from the experts?

Try a new HDMI cable.

I have the exact same setup: 8300HDC thru TWC, and a 60 A-Series Sony as well...

I had the same audio dropouts using an HDMI cable (which was a hand-me-down so I'm not sure of its specs) and then I bought the latest spec 1.3a HDMI cable from Monoprice and I haven't experienced any dropouts ever since.
