I preordered yesterday and am picking it up on my way home tomorrow. Halo 3 maps also come out tomorrow so I will be torn!

Ok I disabled 720P and went into the game, it changed my display to 720X480, then it changed it to 1080i (Where it started). But the game looks like its 480P not HD in this mode.

the game itself seems fun(i could only squeeze in 30 minutes) and the multiplayer is fast and frantic.

visually, i thought the initial cutscene was "alright", but the gameplay visuals are gorgeous. and i thought gears used its engine. but the initial cutscene did look an awful lot like gears.

the controls seem pretty standard and similar to resistance.

the frames seemed very smooth for 30fps.

that's all i can think of off the top of my head.

When I went from 720p to 1080p the visuals increased dramaticly on my 60 inch sony. Remember to load the game to youre Hard Drive.
Also theres post processing effects you can change,I currently like vivid..makes it look like gears of war.

One thing I don not like is all the texture loading,maybe they will fix it in a patch.

Lots of maps,tons of crazy Vehicles and weapons. 3 diffrent kinds of weapon types as well, you come defaulted with a hammer similar to the chainsaw in GoW,a trap/teleport type weapon (think half life portal) and youre standard weapon. You can also Feign Death!! how cool is that..

does this game have coop in campaign and coop online?

it does have co op campaign online (no clue how many players can participate tho). Not sure about the co op offline, never checked,been to busy playing CTF :p

From what I have seen posted on other forums, the game has coop online only. No split screen. Please someone elaborate on this and correct me if I am wrong.

Nothing to elaborate... split screen is not in the game. Only online or LAN setups for multi-play.

OMG, that's terrible. Are they going to recover? That is one of my biggest fears.

UT III is pretty sweet. I was playing a bit earlier and having a great time. I just wrote up a little review in the other "official" thread.

It will output to 1080 resolution only if your HDTV has no 720P option or it is manually unchecked.
