Definitely a CoD2 with modern weapons and locales beater, that's not too tough. Not sure about Halo 3.

to some, sure. not everyone loves Halo you know. all 3 of them are different kind of shooters.

Halo isn't that great to me. I don't know what it is. I used to love it, when I thought it was the only MP online FPS that was any good (for a console) but since I played games like warhawk and COD4 online, I really don't care for halo anymore. It is really silly how many halo worshipers there are that don't want to hear another FPS mentioned in the same sentence and refuse to play/try anything else because halo is the god of all that is FPS online MP.

From the little I know about UT3 so far, I would say that it is more comparable to halo than to COD4, and yes, I do think it will be better than halo, but only time will tell :D

no cross-platform play. Just the PC-User created mods that will set this title apart from anything before it on consoles. The PC version will give you the same tools that created Gears of War. There's nothing stopping a creative person to come up with a killer mod that's playable on the PS3 and could eventually spawn a new game.

No sneaking, no stopping, just move, shoot, and destroy! Sure if you've played it for the PC is alittle more of the same ole Unreal but I think this is the first time Unreal has been done right on a console. Cant wait for tomorrow.

I agree with you that this is a twitch shooter if there ever was one on the PC. The PS3 version will be considerably slower (20% slower gets thrown around). This had to be done for the game to work with a controller. I'm curious with a locked 30fps if it can hang with COD4 as far as pace? We will see soon.

They're all completely different games. I play Halo because it's a nice balance of frenetic grenade whoring firefights and thoughtful planning and tactics. I play CoD4 because you have to have skill to play it, pay attention at all times, and think about your game plan. I play UT when I want to run around at ridiculously fast speeds and be constantly engaged in frenetic shoot first ask questions later gameplay.

Wow, congratulations you figured out exactly what UT is all about. Now you know what everyone else has known since the first game came out. I have to ask what were you expecting? The game is meant to be pure twitch based balls to the walls action.

I hope the rumor is true that 6 or so bullets kill people. That is a primary thing I like about COD4, that bullets kill. And that is one of the main things I hate about halo. In halo, almost all of the guns suck HORRIBLY, so you need to hit people SO much before they die, so people usually wind up shooting a little and then grenading the hell out of the area or using melee. It becomes a huge grenade fest with people running around meleeing. Not my idea of a first person SHOOTER ;) Maybe a first person beat-down, (FPBD) :)

I'm definitely looking forward to the COD4 alternative though, with some fast pasted EXTREME action, in UT3!

I think COD4 will be THE shooter for quite some time. It beats everything else out there right now.

That "6 bullets" thing was something said by Mark Rein in an interview. He stated that all weapons will kill people in six shots or less. Helps the pace of the game and hopefully eliminates what I like to call "FPS dancing." Dancing is the main reason I stopped playing Resistance. Warhawk is all about dancing, but that's the kind of game it is and it doesn't pretend to be anything different so it is forgiveable. Plus you have so many other options in Warhawk than to just circle around each other shooting until one person falls. UTIII should not have any dancing. When someone is running at you and you notice it too late, you're already dead. Can't wait!!

UT and cod 4 fill both ends of the fps spectrum nicely. One is more tactical the other is more action. Buy both , enjoy both for many months to come.

I don't like the six bullets thing in my not-based-in-reality shooter though. If someone comes running behind me with a machine gun they can pretty much mow me down in a few seconds without me knowing what hit me, that's fine and all in CoD since it's more realistic (not completely obviously but more) but I like to be able to turn around and actually have to fight my assailant. It's pretty satisfying pwning some dude even though he got the jump on you.

eh i might download the UT3 demo for pc again. It would never boot on my system. Hopefully they've updated the demo since then.

Thats a much more intuitive and informative response, thanks for the clarifications of your previous post.

All that really needs to be said is that: UTIII, COD4, Halo...are all great (or going to be great) titles in their own respective "areas". Each has a choke hold per say in it's own genre, within the FPS world. Each has a uniquely different feel, look, style and approach to "shooting".

As previously mentioned, why always compare, enjoy the diversity and just because these titles share common traits, by no means does it means you can make an apples to apples comparisons.

KZ3 will try for a Gears of war feel. But KZ1 was pretty bad IMO so i don'te xpect much despite the graphics.

He should have spent a little more time here before posting. People are often quite suprised by the fact that you actually get attacked in this forum for voicing your opinion if its not in-line with the opinion of some posters here.
