I have a SA 8300HDC with an external SATA drive that has been working fine, and we have several shows recorded. Two days ago the electric went out. When the electric came back on, now the 8300HDC doesn't list all the recorded shows. A show that was recorded that morning is listed but when I try to playback, all I get is a blank screen. I have tried powering everthing off to force a reset.

Any suggestions how to restore the recorded show list ??

I just went though this yesterday..posted this in another thread when I got it to work:

I gave it another try last night unplugging and plugging back in in different orders. I think the winning combo was powering off the external,(wait 30 seconds) then (unplug from the back) the dvr, powering up the external, then the dvr, (let it reboot, check if is working then) followed by a dvr unplug, external off, external on, dvr plug in. I got a little nervous at one point because the format option came up and I thought I was screwed.

I had to try probably about 10 times total over two evenings, but eventually it worked.
